About the Item

Canadian sculptor Marlene Hilton Moore continues the theme of listening in a series of outdoor singing bowl sculptures -- this bowl is laser cut with the word "Chant" in a stencil font and coated in bright lemon yellow and black. The artist has created three other bowls in different sizes and dazzling colors in this series: Whisper, Murmur and Sing. These are available separately. Marlene Hilton Moore has been a recipient of many public art commissions including the prestigious Valiants Memorial, Ottawa, Two Freedoms, McMurtry Gardens of Justice Commission, Sir Wilfrid Laurier for Laurier University, Wiidookdaadiwin, Simcoe County, Flowers at Our Feet, Toronto, and most recently the Borden Legacy Monument. Hilton Moore has received awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, The Ontario Arts Council and the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation. Hilton Moore’s work is in the collection of the Canada Council Art Bank, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, the University of Winnipeg, and many other public and private collections. In 2014, she received the Excellence in Arts Award from the City of Barrie, Ontario. In 2010, Hilton Moore retired from her professorship at the School of Design and Visual Art, Georgian College following a distinguished 25-year teaching career.

    Carole A. Feuerman (born 1945) is an American sculptor and author working in Hyperrealism. She is one of the three major artists credited with starting the movement in the late 1970s.
