Origin Made The Weaver's Stool in Ash
About the Item
The Weaver’s Stool came about when Gabriel Tan met Maria Adelina, a weaver in her sixties and the last known one in Paços Ferreira, a furniture- producing town in Portugal. Gabriel Tan’s design fully showcases her craft - this stretcher-less stool construction highlights the woven paper cord surface and gives it paramount attention.
This special edition stool comes in an ash wood frame and a one-off weave pattern which represents a design exploration by the designer. The weave pattern is more elaborate than the eventual bespoke weave pattern selected for the product.
Experimental Editions are one-off pieces and are not exchangeable/refundable.

Origin Made
Origin Made was born as a desire to create objects with a soul. We work with family run workshops or solo artisans, pairing them with internationally recognized or up-and-coming designers to develop collectible products. We view our craftsmen as partners rather than suppliers, and we give a face to the hands that shape our products, promoting them alongside our designers. It is a brand that puts the heart in front of everything else, with a passion for the craft process that represent our intangible cultural value and heritage. We believe that the story of each object should be told from where it is born - the workshop of the craftsman - how it is made and the environment in which it is conceived. The recipient of our products deserves to know, in order to truly understand the piece they have received.
