The Stuart: A Classical English Stone Fireplace in the Tudor Style
About the Item
The Stuart stone fireplace, with its traditional peaked arch opening, and triangular spandrels on either side of the arch, evokes the classic 16th century Tudor design era. Our Tudor fireplace starts with block plinths with a slight curved chamfer on the inner corners. The molding on the legs above the plinths incorporates flat and curved sections, that continue throughout the legs and up across the lintel. A slightly curved chamfer runs along the full outer edge of either side of the fireplace. The top shelf piece flares gently out on either side, with some simple layers of molding. Although this fireplace style is often seen in limestone, it works nicely in marble as well. It would look perfect in a Living Room, Family Room, Study, or even a larger Primary Bedroom. Custom sizes are available.
