Decorative Bowl, Pyot Thiry, Vallauris c. 1960
About the Item
Delicate bowl with the motif of a female figure executed by Pyot Thiry and dating from the Artist's collaboration at the "Tapis Vert" workshop.
It is therefore an early piece since Pyot Thiry and her husband Albert found their own workshop in 1963.
Imbued with great pictorial force, this piece is typical of the creations of this workshop founded by René Batigne and his wife the American painter Claire Voight.
The Tapis Vert will never operate as a commercial business but rather as an open place conducive to creations which has welcomed many artists such as Anton Priner, Marcel Vertès or Amédé Ozenfant ...
the piece is signed "Thiry" in the decor and with the ceramist's first name in the back.
For those who where lucky enough to meet Pyot, this charming brunette could be the artist herself...
The piece is in perfect condition, free from any restoration.
