Danish art pottery vase by Helge Österberg. A gorgeous vintage art chamotte ceramic vase from the 1950s, design by the talented Helge Österberg, Denmark. This is a fantastic studio produced vase, simple both in shape and glazing yet still amazing at the same time. Österberg 'was one of Denmark's leading artists and designer, famous for his bold design and the quality of his work is always very high and his art has become very sought after and collectable. The shape is teardrop, with a beautiful dark brown base in chamotte style, with flamed like white glazing on the front and back. This item is very much of its time, but due to the simplicity it still has a contemporary feeling and will add to any interior setting.
It is 11.5 cm (4.52") high and around 9cm (3.54") wide and 8cm (3.14") deep and in a very good condition and the price includes free shipping.
Danish pottery is famous world-wide due to the high quality and artistry and is often seen as one of the best-known countries in the world for inovative mid-century modern design. The focus for the design was always based upon form and functionality with groundbreaking glazing technique best sums up, why they are among of the world leading countries. Helge Österberg further developed chamotte glazing to an art form, visiable in ths wonderful vase.
