A beautiful, signed, limited edition work showcasing Helen Allingham's watercolour paintings of England. The Deluxe Edition. Limited to 750 copies, this being number 396. Signed by Helen Allingham to the limitations page. Rebound in handsome half morocco, with gilt detail to the spine, by Period Bookbinders, Bath. With the original cloth front cover bound into the volume. With a portrait frontispiece and eighty full page watercolour illustrations from paintings by Helen Allingham. Collated complete. A beautiful work showcasing the paintings of Helen Allingham. Allingham was a renowned British watercolourist from the Victorian era, best known for illustrating Thomas Hardy's novel, 'Far from the Madding Crowd'. Her work was highly influential, even inspiring the likes of Vincent Van Gogh. With a memoir and descriptions by Marcus B. Huish. The half title page is present. Rebound in half morocco by Period Bookbinders, Bath. Externally, excellent with little shelf wear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with just the odd spot throughout. Illustrator's ink signature to the limitations page.
