Rug'N Roll Bench by Budde

About the Item

Rug'N Roll Bench by Budde Dimensions: W 100 x D 35 x H 42 cm Materials: Concrete Any RAL or NCS tone is possible upon request BUDDE is a Cologne-based design studio, founded in 2019 and led by Architect Johannes Budde and Meike Papenfuss. As a strong duo, Johannes is the creative mind behind BUDDE, complemented by the business and brand expertise of Meike. Arising from the field of architecture, the studio’s work stretches across typologies such as furniture, lighting and home decor – combining exclusive collectible designs as well as scalable designs intended for the commercial market. Driven by a courageous spirit, BUDDE seeks to introduce meaningful designs that provide a new take on a quotidian object. The studio’s practice is characterized by eliminating excess and relying on essential forms. Purposeful details and intuitive functionality are paired with a commitment to outstanding quality and longevity. The collectible objects are available in limited quantities and represented by internationally renowned galleries such as Rossana Orlandi gallery in Milan or Mint gallery in London. The scalable designs are exclusively produced in Germany and are directly available through the studio. BUDDE increasingly collaborates with global furniture brands who trust the studio to create recognizable, long-lasting collections together.

Admani bench by Pendhapa Dimensions: D 126 x W 45 x H 42 cm Materials: Solid black javanese teak, Hand loom Silk Weight: 60 kg The vision behind our collaboration with Helena Bajaj Larsen is one of merging and honouring aesthetic and heritage standpoints hailing from diverse global perspectives. It is the coming together of an architectural design studio and a textile fashion studio. Our collaboration is anchored in space, touch and interaction and manifests itself through both its structural and spatial qualities. Our first piece is intended as a physical object that would bring people together - a point of convergence in a circulatory space: a bench fit for a few individuals to gather, converse, observe. We designed the bench as a central piece in the spirit of dissolving the boundaries between product and architecture, fabric and surface, object and space. Pendhapa Atelier is here acting as the creative engineer behind the structure of the product. Their design for the bench is conceived as “plateau” to support and showcase the artwork and craftsmanship present in the fabric by HBL. The plateau is divided by two asymmetric arcs making the experience of the bench different from each angle. The fabric is entirely hand-painted and is made of pure handloom Indian raw silk We are Atelier Pendhapa...
