19th Century French Carved Marquetry Inlaid Walnut and Slate Round Dining Table

About the Item

This elegant four foot round table was crafted in France circa 1880. Built of walnut, the table stands on four hand turned legs, connected at the base with an X-shape stretcher. The intricate 2" thick top features a large slate in the center, and decorative inlaid scroll motifs; it is further embellished with a center pine drawer for additional storage. The Louis XIII style table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with wonderful character, and adorns a rich walnut patina. This lovely fruitwood table suitable for four to six people, would make an impressive addition to any breakfast room. Measures: 49" diameter 29.5" height.
