1840’s Collection 42 Photographs in Custom Spring Loaded Antique Picture Frame
About the Item
An antique, American Empire era hand made picture frame cabinet containing a collection of forty two black and white photographic images, which could very well be all images of an extended family. Each photograph measures approximately 2.25" wide by 3.5" high, there are forty two photographs presented in a grid style of six rows and seven columns. This, quite possibly complete at the time, family record is a true moment in history. The black and white photographic images are each presented behind a piece of cut glass. Behind the glass and image, is a spring keeping the glass and image pressed against the wood frame and against the wood backing boards. This is a true piece of history.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. In antique condition with age appropriate wear. The glass inserts are, for the most part, safely secured to the frame by the springs. The backing boards are mostly in tact. There are some areas of veneer loss. Photos have not been examined.
