About the Item
Original vintage Polish State Railways train travel poster advertising the Krakow Festival in Poland / Pologne Fetes de Cracovie on 3-24 June 1939 featuring a colourful design depicting ladies wearing traditional dresses and men in folk tunics and hats, one in a Lajkonik costume wearing a hobby horse around his waist, with children walking in a procession through the old city gates playing music and carrying various objects and flags. Artwork by the Polish artist Witold Chomicz (1910-1984). This event is most likely the annual moveable feast of Corpus Christi held in May or June. Fair condition, folds, tears, paper loss in the top right corner, creasing, staining.
