About the Item
An exquisitely modelled three dimensional brooch in the form of a grasshopper, from mid century American fashion designer , Nettie Rosenstein. Of outstanding quality, this brooch depicts this insect beautifully, charming to look and and to wear. Pin it on a lapel, pin it high on the shoulder, a hat , or round a neckline - even on the waist/hip. Will catch attention wherever.
Nettie Rosenstein was a very famous and highly regarded American fashion designer, though the 1920s until the 1960s. Starting out as designs from home, she opened a shop in New York in 1931 on West 47th.Street. In 1940, Rosenstein clothing was sold out of 92 shops and department stores across the USA, catering to the higher end of the fashion market. Nettie Rosenstein designs included the little black dress as well as printed dresses with gloves to match. She was also known for her accessories and striking costume jewelry.
