DUETT INTERIORS
Minnesota cool

A palette of black and white in a rustic Minnesota woodland? Deployed by the right hands, it can echo like a moon shot. Tiffany Thompson, of Portland, Oregon–based DUETT INTERIORS, says she was “thinking of how we elevate the black/white aesthetic by combining standout silhouettes with elevated textures.” Thus, the leather sectional sofa from DWR draped with an Hermès Avalon throw comes across as both warm and cool, while plush ’70s-inspired dining chairs bring a touch of Milan to an otherwise all-American series of spaces. Studio PGRB, of Miami, provided the light cluster over the cerused dining table, but the strongest glow emanates from the adjoining games room, where a little quote from Muhammad Ali shines like a star.

“I’m thoughtful about my intentions in the work and how things are placed, sourced and curated together. It’s not about a certain design style but about the intentions and emotions you want for the space.”
