Studio Shamshiri

California’s low-key cool

Curled up like a snoozing Labradoodle puppy, a Swedish sofa from the 1930s drives home the point of Studio Shamshiri’s design for this ranch house in Southern California. In the words of Pamela Shamshiri, who runs the L.A.-based firm with her brother, Ramin Shamshiri: “Home is the place you recharge, that gives back to you.”  The clients, East Coast transplants, shopped the best of California online, via 1stDibs, and in person, picking up a vintage sling chair from Sumner LA, a Lorenzo Burchiellaro copper coffee table from Almond & Co., an antique Oushak carpet from Woven Accents and a rustic three-legged stool from Obsolete. “Every room was designed to look as good messy as it does with everything in its place,” Shamshiri says proudly.

A home is a respite, a place to nourish, to nurture. To us, you’re home when each room makes you want to sit down and take off your shoes, turn on some music and stay a while.”
