Two Muse Studios
A Cool California Take on Italian Modernism

As befits its name, Two Muse Studios, founded in 2020 by Los Angeles partners Alexa Lameiras, left, and Katelyn Pascavis, espouses a pair of design signatures: the artful blending of styles and eras and the unexpected mix of materials. For an open-plan Pacific Palisades home, Lameiras and Pascavis were single-minded, convincing their client to turn this space — intended as a formal dining room — into a dual-purpose lounge that, Lameiras says, “serves as an elevated sunroom during the day and the perfect spot to watch the sunset.” The team designed a custom sofa to maximize the ocean view, covering it in a sage mohair that complements the foliage outside and pairing it with a contemporary Ojai coffee table by Lawson-Fenning. A pair of vintage slipper chairs with shapely polished-steel legs, found on 1stDibs and reupholstered, typifies the Italian mid-century elements used throughout the home. Between the chairs, a Moët Chandon cork side table is a conversation piece that illustrates the two muses’ refined yet playful approach. “As an added bonus,” Pascavis says, “it functioned as a champagne cooler, which came in handy for our client, who loves to entertain.”
