Taste the Rainbow

Noz Nozawa knows color. This expertise proved invaluable for a San Francisco project, whose design decree Nozawa sums up as “Rainbow. That was literally our client’s single-word design brief for the home.” Nozawa went big in the living room, just off the entrance, where she says she deployed “vivid magentas and lilac pinks painted onto the walls as if gauzy swaths of silk were being dipped into a dye bath and thrown against the walls and ceiling.” The room’s angles are abstracted and its rosy shades reflected in a polished stainless-steel mirror by Zieta, which was found on 1stDibs, as was the Gino Sarfatti for Flos chandelier and the Jaime Hayon for BD Barcelona multi-leg coffee table in spectrum-tempering walnut. “In a room as vivid and rainbow as this, I wanted to ensure we grounded it with something natural,” Nozawa says. A Cipria sofa by the Campana Brothers for Edra joins Kelly Wearstler Zephyr club chairs in a custom slub velvet and, underfoot, a Wave rug by Sonya Winner and Jade Purple Brown. “Whatever our clients dream for a room, our team goes all the way there,” Nozawa says. “We’ll even nudge a little past the boundary too.”
