The paper is manufactured on a Fourdrinier Machine, a process first perfected by and patented by the Fourdrinier brothers in 1803. Image size: 90 x 90 cm Paper size: 100 x 100 cm Keith Haring often included embracing genderless couples in his artwork as he was openly gay and an advocate for love regardless of race and gender. Keith Haring (1958-1990) was an American artist and social activist known for his evocative illustrations. A prominent figure of 1980s New York graffiti culture, his work could be found in every subway station in the city. Haring was able to reach a wide audience through his humorous, accessible imagery and saturated colours. He proved the legitimacy of street art by bringing it to museums and galleries, blurring the boundary between high and low culture- an endeavour also shared by his contemporaries Warhol and Basquiat. Haring's energetic drawings tackle universal themes such as birth, death, sexuality and war in an original, cartoon-like way that has awarded him international recognition. Our extensive collection of Haring prints celebrates his unique graphic style Copyright Keith Haring Foundation. Licensed by Artestar New York

He served as the official artist for the NASA Apollo 9, and Apollo 13 space missions; in 1976 the United States Navy commissioned him to paint a mural in the administration building on Treasure Island spanning 26 feet x 251 feet, then the largest mural in the United States; and in 1980 the United States Postal Service honored Lowell Nesbitt by issuing four postage stamps depicting his paintings. In addition to medieval subjects, Arms made a series of prints of American cities. He used sewing needles and magnifying glasses to get a fine level of detail. A member of many printmaking societies, Arms served as president of the Society of American Graphic Artists. An educator, Arms wrote the Handbook of Print Making and Print Makers (1934) and did numerous demonstrations and lectures. Arms was elected into the National Academy of Design as an Associate member in 1930, and became a full member in 1933.
