Born on 24th June 1890 and died on 2 February 1967
Painter, watercolourist and engraver. French painter of military and sporting scenes. Pechaubes initially painted historical scenes, mainly of the Second French Empire. However, he later devoted himself exclusively to the study of racehorses and became the official portraitist of famous horses – an undertaking welcomed by the breeders.
Pechaubes also painted a number of trotting races, a sport more popular in France than in England, and polo.
His paintings have appeared in exhibited and auction sales all around Europe and the United States of America.
His pictures have been auctioned right up to the current time in all the major auction houses.
