This fine still life painting depicts a woven wicker basket atop of a marble ledge. The basket is abundantly filled with various fruits, some of which overspill onto the ledge below. The backdrop for the still life is a clouded over sky, with hints to blue visible to the top left and bottom right. The painterly manner is fluid and accomplished, and the colour palette rich and vibrant. The painting is monogrammed lower left ‘PH'.
