This was a unique cooperation of the three artists. From trunks to leather bags to wine holders, their styles have traveled across time and fashion, becoming classics that never look old. With the genius of Marc Jacobs, these icons have entered new domains where art and fashion are directly linked.
Tim White is a video and installation artist based in New York and Berlin. He was educated as an architect and dedicated himself to visual art and filmmaking, exploring the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, video, video installations and light installations throughout his career. He began showing in New York in the early 1990s with his "Blue Paintings." Emphasis on the role of the subconscious in his paintings had affinities with visual abstractionism and literary existentialism.
He has consistently been at the technological forefront of video and light art, being called a "video maverick" and "an abstract "'painter of motion.'"
Tim White-Sobieski was born in 1961 and emigrated to the United States in 1993. He attended New York University and Parsons School of Design before embarking on a career in art.

These are two unframed botanical monotypes. This species of tree is a Dancing Peacock Full Moon Japanese Maple or in Latin, acer japonicum aconitifolium. The actual Japanese name is Mai Kujaku. Cyanotypes are a kind of 19th century alternative (cameraless) photographic process.
While traditional cyanotypes are a navy blue background with sharp white silhouettes, this is a double exposure cyanotype. The two different shades of blue are created by exposing some parts of the light-sensitive paper to sunlight longer than others. The monochromatic multi-tone effect is rather like aquatint etchings.

This monotype was made by carefully arranging hundreds of individual blades of fresh-cut native Californian wild grass. The species of tall marsh grass is called Gray Rush or the latin name juncus patens. It is native to Northern California and grows in local wetlands. Cyanotypes are a kind of 19th century alternative (cameraless) photographic process. While traditional cyanotypes are a navy blue background with sharp white silhouettes, the artist manipulates the process to achieve multiple softer shades of blue instead, rather like aquatint etchings.
The leaves of this print are pale blue and not white. the leaves in these are a bit darker while the background is a bit lighter than another similar size of triptych listed called "Spring Night Triptcyh." The prints in the other botanical triptych have a higher dark/light contrast as those were printed on textured (more absorbent) cold press watercolor paper rather than smooth hot press paper like this one.
This is a double exposure cyanotype. The different shades of blue are created by exposing some parts of the light-sensitive paper to sunlight longer than others.
