This colorful abstract landscape limited edition print depicts a forest, with trees with thin trunks in the foreground, and leaves that seem to incorporate almost every color. Bursts of green, deep blues, orange, and pink come together to create the canopy of the trees, some of which can also be seen in the background with bright yellow cast overtop, giving the idea of sunlight shining through clouds. This Limited-Edition giclee print by Ken Elliott with an edition of 195. Printed on canvas, this giclee ships framed in a gold floater frame wired and ready to hang. Also, this framed giclee ships for free. "I can assure you, it took a lot of sessions in the studio before any glittering appeared...," the artist says of this piece. "[It] went through five or six big changes and once the composition came together, I declared it finished and decided it a good day. When I returned to the studio the next morning, it was apparent that something had been lost along the way. As it often happens, I think my just-finished piece are really good until the next day. That's okay, because it's an opportunity to take the painting further, and I jumped right in with much brighter colors. Since I was painting over a slightly duller background, those brights began to sing. Additional colors were added to the mix and while I was putting on the last strokes, the title came to me: Glittering Forest." Ken Elliott is an abstract landscape artist based in Colorado. With over 40 years in the art business, his knowledge spans well beyond the easel. Of his work, Elliott says, "My focus is the landscape and its rich store of ideas and inspiration. I am compelled to work from the trees, skies, lakes and streams in their endless variations. I don’t try to recreate nature (even Monet said he never got it right), or attempt storytelling. Instead, the works are simplifications and exaggerations of nature. There was a time when I felt the tyranny of the landscape. That is, I felt limited by making pictures of a place. Now, instead of making pictures, I am free to make paintings - art that comes from nature but is far more reliant on the strategies of making good art objects."
