Henrik Schouboe Art
Henrik Schouboe first studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, in Copenhagen, from 1894–1901 and 1903–10, in Italy and Paris. He was awarded numerous stipends and scholarships, including the Larssen (1902–03) and the Akademie Scholarship, in 1908. In 1906, he exhibited for the first time at the Charlottenberg, and his submission was bought by the leading Danish painter, Kristian Zahrtmann, for his collection. Schouboe continued to exhibit internationally for over 30 years and was the recipient of prizes, medals and juried awards, including the purchase of his 1908 entry, Young Couple in a Landscape, by the State Museum of Art for the national collection. His work is also held in the permanent collections of numerous other museums, including the Copenhagen, Aabenraa, Maribo and Aalborg Art Museums.
