Colourful Vintage 'Straits Style' Chinese Ginger Jar
About the Item
A large vintage 'Straits style' ginger jar. Crafted in China towards the latter half of the 20th Century, around the 1970s
Handcrafted in fine Chinese porcelain and emboldened with a vivid palette of enamel tones. It is adorned with chrysanthemum flowers and foliage that encompasses the ginger jar's large, oval shape. The floral composition, rendered in vibrant pinks, yellows, and greens, is set against a striking ultramarine blue backdrop.
This is an excellent example of the strong colour combinations that distinguish Straits/Peranakan-style porcelain. Bold and beautiful.
