French Art Nouveau Red and Yellow Signed Emile Gallé Cameo Glass Vase circa 1920

About the Item

Signed French Art Nouveau Emile Gallé compact footed cameo vase depicting flowers in reds over orange, with fine internal polishing to highlight the red in the daises, (this is sometimes called window pane technique - one of the more complex techniques Galle employed -requiring the inside layer to be rubbed away with acid -it’s rare to find this technique used especially on such a narrow necked vase -as access would be seriously limited). Unusually heavy. Signed Provost MkIV c1920-36 see last image for dating chart. Emile Gallé was probably the greatest glass maker of all time and one of the founding father's of the Art Nouveau movement.
