Rene Lalique Early Opalescent Domrémy Art Glass Vase

About the Item

A stunning early Domrémy (created 1926) Art Glass Vase in wonderful opalescent glass by René Lalique (French, 1860-1945) and dating from around 1926. The vase stands on a narrow flat round polished foot rim with a recessed base and is decorated with molded thistles on trailing stems with leaves with raised flower heads. The vase is made in a rich opalescent glass, more commonly less pronounced on later versions and has a narrow pinched top and short everted rim. The vase has an early R Lalique France incised signature mark applied to the foot rim. A wonderful quality piece and one of the finest examples we have had the pleasure in offering. Provenance: Acquired from the UK art market. In good condition with light wear associated with age and use and with natural age wear to the foot rim.
