Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau Beaded Floral Jug by Annie Partridge

About the Item

A very stylish Art Nouveau Doulton Lambeth jug decorated with leaf and floral designs by renowned junior artists Annie Partridge and Georgian Pearson and dating from around 1905. A raised loop hand is applied to the side. The jug is decorated with stylized flower heads and leaves set within a scrolling raised beadwork border. The leaves on graduating beaded stems are decorated in white against a mottled blue and brown ground while the flower heads are also applied in a white slip with blue and brown decoration and set against a mottled brown ground. The jug has impressed makers marks to the base along with an incised GP monogram for Georgina Pearson and impressed marks for Annie Partridge. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market.
