1986

About the Item

(1st Printing) “Crack Down” by Keith Haring, is an original, unsigned lithograph printed in 1986 “Bill Graham revisited his old Bronx neighborhood in August, 1986 and, appalled to see that the drug culture had effectively wiped out the local culture, foresaw a menacing problem in the crack craze. He teamed with David Maldonado to stage a Crack Benefit in the city, but scaled back plans several times since few shared his apprehension. Ultimately, two concerts were held; one in Madison Square Garden and the other, an all-Latin show at the Felt Forum the following night. This poster was designed by immensely popular pop-artist Keith Haring for the 1986 “Crackdown on Crack” concert in New York City.“ Edition: 2000 Medium: Lithograph Size: 43.18 cm (w) x 55.88 cm (h) Signed and dated on plate on the lower right margin These poster’s are in mint condition, though each has very slight markings from the printers in the top portion of the poster, where they were printed and stacked – see photo’s. This does in no way detract from the item at all!
