Oscar de La Renta Black & Ivory Satin Cocktail Dress, 1970's

About the Item

1970's Oscar de La Renta black & ivory satin cocktail dress with a demure silhouette and decidedly chic look. The dress zips and hooks at the back with hidden side pockets and braiding at the neckline and cuffs. The two tone design presents the appearance of layered pieces and the collar and cuffs are simply whipstitched to the body of the dress and can be easily removed to create a collarless 'little black dress'. Great look for cocktail wear or a dinner out. CONDITION Good vintage condition with a minor smudge mark at the collar shown in photograph 14. The whipstitching at the cuffs and collar shows some loose stitching and could be tightened, if desired. Please see photographs 11, 12 and 13. There are belt loops at the waist but the original belt is missing in action. Professionally cleaned and ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a U.S. size 8 and fits sizes 6 - 8 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the dress was too large and had to be pinned to create the correct silhouette.
