Pucci Purple Blue Single Stem Rose Print Maxi Skit, 1960s

About the Item

Known for his use of bold colors and eccentric prints, Emilio Pucci was inspired by the world around him, especially his home country of Italy. The prints he designed allowed for exciting and unique options on comfortable, easy to maintain fabrics making clothing by Pucci to be loved by women of all backgrounds, especially the modern jet-setters. Emblematic of these features, this 1960s Pucci maxi skirt is made from a liquid silk. The skirt boasts a blue monochromatic harmony as a rose in shades of turquoise, ice, periwinkle, cadet blue, and grey bisects a ground of azure and ultramarine. Around the edges of the skirt runs a frieze with scrolled leaves. Sitting just above the hips, the skirt closes on the left side with a series of snaps that can be used to adjust the size of slit. On the right, there is a non-adjustable slit that opens around calf-level. Light, non-restrictive, and a work of art in and of itself, this skirt is an excellent go-to option to dress up a solid colored blouse for a day or night out. Size Estimate: 12 Measurements: Waist: 28 inches Hips: 36-38 inches Length: 40 inches As with any Pucci design, the designer’s signature can be seen throughout the print. It is fully lined in a matching turquoise silk. In very good condition, the skirt has some light wear and fading to the fabric. Professionally eco-dry cleaned and pressed, high-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
