Lillie Rubin Dove Gray Wool Dress & Coat Set, 1950's

About the Item

Early 1950's Lillie Rubin dress & coat ensemble in a dove gray flat wool. The dress has a classic '50's 'wiggle' silhouette with a rolled mock turtle neck collar and a bustle style panel in the back accented by a black grosgrain ribbon bow. It zips and hooks up the back with snaps at the back panel and a full lining. The coat has a modified shawl collar which can be hooked just below the neck and an interesting back detail that is reminiscent of a harness. It is also fully lined and has pockets at the sides. Go full Alfred Hitchcock heroine retro by adding a classic alligator handbag and stiletto pumps or consider pairing the ensemble with a sleek equestrian style boot for a different aesthetic. The pieces are also great as separates. CONDITION Good vintage condition. The lining of the dress has some fading at the bodice and a subtle discoloration at the inside neckline. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The sizes are not marked though pieces are small and would best fit U.S. sizes 2 - 4 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the dress was very snug and the coat was a little tight at the shoulders.
