Pair of Tall Empire Ormolu & Bronze Candelabras Attributed to Gerard Jean Galle
By Gérard-Jean Galle
Located in GRENOBLE, FR
Pair of tall ormolu (mercury gilt bronze) and patinated bronze candelabras, French Empire production, early 19th century circa 1815 - 1820. Tall 4-lights model held by winged putti standing on a finely chiseled ormolu column-shaped base. This pattern is a variant of the candelabras Claude Galle delivered to the Grand Trianon in 1809. This theme used to be very successful during early 19th century and were the subject of a number of imperial orders. Our candelabras were manufactured circa 1815 - 1820 which allows us to attribute them to Gerard Jean Galle...

19th Century French Green Glass Demijohn or Dame Jeanne Hand Blown Bottle
Located in Birmingham, AL
A beautiful 19th century French handblown green glass demijohn or Dame Jeanne bottle, circa 1880s, having a bulbous shape and brightly colored green glass with visible bubbles and no seams, an indication that it was hand blown rather than made with a mold. The uneven cut at the top rim was created when the glass blower cut the bottle, also an indication that it was hand blown. Originally used for storing wine and spirits, demijohns are used today as decorative accessories in the home or re-purposed into lamps. ?We have several different shapes and sizes to choose from. Please contact us for sizes and pics of other bottles. This listing is for the one bottle. The term demijohn or Dame Jeanne as it's known in France, refers to any glass vessel with a large body and small neck. Legend has it that on a stormy night...

21 Blue Gold Dessert Dishes With All Serving Dishes See Image 2 England 1810
Located in Katonah, NY
This hand painted English porcelain dessert service features the exquisite Blue Chrysanthemum pattern, combining deep blue with the allure of gold. It's a fabulous combination! The golden chrysanthemum leaves are richly gilded, creating a beautiful contrast against the deep blue background. This gorgeous 32-piece service consists of 21 dessert plates and all the serving shapes: a centerpiece and pairs of square-shaped dishes, shell-shaped dishes, oval-shaped dishes, and a fabulous pair of sauce tureens with their underplates. Made by Coalport circa 1810, this Regency Period pattern was inspired by similar Chinese designs of the 18th century. In Chinese lore, chrysanthemums represent a long and happy life because they bloom at the end of summer. In addition to their beauty, these dishes symbolize happiness and overall well-being. Dimensions: The diameter of the set of twelve dessert plates is 8.35" The diameter of the set of nine dessert plates is 7.5" Centerpiece 12" x 8" 4" tall Pair of shell-shaped plates 7.75" x 7.75" Pair of square-shaped dishes 8.5" x 8.5" Pair of oval-shaped dishes 11" x 7.5" Pair of sauce tureens on stands 9" x 7" height 6" Condition: Very good to Excellent, with very slight rubbing to the gilt (see images). Antique Italian Limestone Statue of Diana the Huntress and Her Dog, C. 1890
Located in Dallas, TX
Hand-carved from Italian limestone, circa 1890, this beautiful Neoclassical statue is a unique interpretation of the famous Diana of Versailles statue (the 1st or 2nd-century marble, which is itself a copy of a lost bronze sculpture dating to 325 BC). Our Diana stands barefoot on a two-and-a-half-inch thick square plinth, clad in a kolpos style chiton, complete with remarkable detailing presenting as pleats and folds. Diana has gathered some of the fabric in her left hand, allowing her canine companion to peer out from behind her legs. In her right hand, the goddess (Diana is her name in Roman mythology; her Greek counterpart is Artemis) clutches her ponytail near her chest. An embellished quiver of arrows, featuring fluting and sinuous lines remiscent of plantlife, is slung across her torso, tucked behind her right shoulder. This Italian limestone statue...
