About the Item

The lily console in cream Shagreen by R&Y Augousti makes for a dramatic statement piece in any space. The shagreen top sits on a cluster of sculptural bronze-patina brass inlaid legs. Custom color and sizing available on request. Available with palm wood legs, image at end of slide. The dimensions of this piece are 150 x 35 x 90 cm / 59" x 14" x 35" All R&Y Augousti pieces are handmade by artisans, ultimately making each piece unique. Wipe clean with soft dry cloth. Acclaimed design duo Ria & Yiouri Augousti have established themselves since the 1990s as pioneers of modern-vintage style through their luxurious Art Deco inspired collections. The Paris based label has distinguished themselves since their launch, with their iconic use of shagreen mixed with brass and other exotic materials. All furniture is handcrafted by skilled artisans, ultimately making each piece unique. All shagreen-covered items should be kept out of direct sunlight, color variants may occur on the stingray and other exotic finishes, but this showcases the Parisian label's commitment to creating authentic luxurious products using natural components.

Lefort's decision to become a designer was inspired by the furniture of Jean Royere in his family home in France. After finishing his studies in cabinet making at the renowned Institute de St Luc in Tournai, where he specialized in design, he went on to complete his training in the workshops of cabinet makers, interior decorators, and upholsterers in Brussels where he was motivated by his desire to learn new techniques in the decorative arts. These apprenticeships gave him a thorough grounding and an enviable technical knowledge in the art of cabinetmaking; this, combined with his commitment to the highest levels of craftsmanship which Lefort brings to his contemporary designs, continues a long tradition of French cabinetry...
