Always a party in Dallas

If a tented room can’t bring out the drama, then what can, really? In an undoubtedly quiet year for public events, Corey Damen Jenkins’s dining room for the 2021 Dallas Kips Bay Decorator Show House was a brilliant, high-production mix of past, present and future. A suite of Louis XVI fauteuils from Embree & Lake, sourced on 1stDibs, were covered in yellowjacket velvet and let loose in a swarm around custom tables of futuristic Cambria quartz, while 400 yards of Sanderson fabric swathed the entire scene. “Even though the tented-room concept isn’t new, historically speaking, I wanted to give it a new twist for the twenty-first century,” Jenkins explains. “It’s Cirque du Soleil meets the Parisian fashion runway.”

“My goal is to ensure that my clients’ projects are classic, livable and don’t come with an expiration date.”
