Michael Del Piero Good Design Hamptons

Clean sweep on Eastern Long Island

“I’ve traveled extensively through Europe and find many similarities between the South of France and the Hamptons,” says Michael Del Piero, the dynamo behind the full-service design firm bearing her name, with offices in Chicago and the Hamptons. “This observation played a strong role in formulating our ideas for the space.” The “space” is a contemporary loft-style bedroom in a contemporary Bridgehampton farmhouse. It isn’t large, but a neutral palette — expressed in nightstands and a three-legged wooden stool sourced through 1stDibs plus a Moroccan rug and Belgian linens, all of the designer’s own design — recall the ageless beauty of limestone villages Aix and Les Baux-de-Provence. Also lasting in their appeal: the Lariat sconces by Apparatus, a new classic in a timeworn finish.
