Urbane and luxurious, with a soupçon of wit

A few words from Robert Couturier, for anyone in search of an excuse to redecorate: “Life is so crazy, now more than ever, that a beautiful and comfortable home is practically essential if you want to keep your sanity!” In this New York living room overlooking Central Park, sanity is assured. Color, texture, form and scale are considered in concert, contributing to a lighthearted, sophisticated whole. Shapes repeat, scaled up or down; colors warm and cool but never flatten. Animated by the elegant lines of a coffee table sourced on 1stDibs and Couturier’s beloved 1940s French furniture (a hexagonal table attributed to Jules Leleu, a pair of geometric armchairs), the room hums — as louder performances are encouraged from the client’s paintings and sculpture.

“Our design philosophy is to listen to the client and to create spaces that are reflective of them while making sure that everything is in harmony and balance and to give them the best whenever possible.
