Austin Power Meets Southern Comfort

Casual, quirky, artful — there’s a lot to think about in this private saloon in a Lake Austin home, best described as an elevated take on Texas charm. Designed by Austin designer Fern Santini, known for her haute-bohemian style, it’s a space full of spirit (and spirits, too!), beginning with the backlit bar. “It’s particularly beautiful when dimmed down to a soft glow,” notes Santini, “with bottle and decanter colors tying so neatly to the wall photos.” The latter were acquired from the Morrison Hotel Gallery by the client, who enjoys listening to the likes of the Eagles, Ray Charles and Willie Nelson from the comfort of the vintage de Sede sectional sofa, a blue-velvet upholstered bar stool or one of the chairs surrounding the walnut gaming table, all sourced on 1stDibs. The blown-glass globes of the Allied Maker Well 5 chandelier and the wall-mounted guitar, signed by the members of U2, make for cool visual harmony.
