Michael Del Piero Good Design

Art and Craft in the Hamptons

“I wanted my client, an artist, to be inspired by the handiwork of the objects in the space,” says Michael Del Piero, referring to this living room in a mid-century modern East Hampton home. “The simple white background and the rustic setting provide the canvas against which the details of each item can be appreciated and explored.” Standout details include the muscular lines of the antique root chairs and the custom concrete coffee table designed by Del Piero (whose namesake firm has offices in Chicago and the Hamptons as well as a 1stDibs storefront), topped by a textural bowl and vases that, like the chairs, were found on 1stDibs. The showstopper: a 1960s carved wall sculpture by Nerone Ceccarelli and Giancarlo Patuzzi for Gruppo NP2.
