New Age Hollywood Drama

Make no mistake, the L.A.-based designer Brigette Romanek is the reigning queen of contemporary Hollywood glam. Key to her auteur style is filling rooms with show-stopping pieces. What saves the decor from melodrama is the way she gives the furnishings space to breathe. Take the easy elegance of this airy California living room, packed with scene stealers. “With its curves and height and playfulness, the mid-century gray Lara sofa by Pamio, Toso and Massari commands the room,” says Romanek, noting that it’s balanced by the other pieces, each with its own star presence, like the 1960 Hans Wegner GE 2 Hammock. Where did she do her casting? 1stDibs, of course. “Almost the entire room!” she says. “Because so many of the pieces are vintage and iconic.”
