Timothy Corrigan, Inc.
Tradition for Today
When it comes to blending old-world elegance with a California sensibility, Timothy Corrigan — who divides his time among a home in Los Angeles, a château in the Loire Valley and an apartment in Paris — is without peer. Consider this Parisian living room. It’s a scene of classic French drama, galvanized by a pair of giant Egyptian figures worthy of Cecil B. DeMille. In the hands of a lesser master, such an audacious staging might be campy. But Corrigan’s inspired mix of antique dark bronze and white plaster objets animates the space, while harmonizing with the ornate moldings. “We painted the walls and ceiling with seven different shades of white and cream to showcase the details in subtle color changes,” he notes. He also furnished the room with light-reflecting 19th-century Baccarat crystal chandeliers and sconces and antique mirrors — all readily available on 1stDibs — to ensure a bright and cheerful ambience even on gray days. An overstuffed English-style snowy white sofa and armchairs make the room feel welcoming, while Corrigan’s use of stain-resistant outdoor fabric demonstrates his American practicality.
