Studio Shamshiri
Sumptuous, nurturing and ever so stylish
A former set designer with a keen sense of narrative and a deep love of collaboration, Pamela Shamshiri helped found the trailblazing Commune Design before establishing Studio Shamshiri in 2016. A singularly sophisticated yet soulful design sensibility has made the firm a favorite of L.A.’s most elite creatives. For a home in the mid-century mecca of Trousdale, Shamshiri assembled this elegant European-inflected dining room around her client’s delightful Roger Capron–designed, circus-themed ceramic wall plaques. Their rich yet muted tones set the palette for the exceptionally pretty space, from the soft blush of the sheer curtains and antique Tabriz rug to the sumptuous rosewood of the 1950 Silvio Coppola dining buffet. The fluid forms of the figures are echoed in Paavo Tynell’s candelabra, Kurt Ostervig’s satinwood-veneered bird’s-eye maple dining table and Niels Møller’s dining chairs — a lively assortment of finds from 1stDibs. “Gathered and eclectic” is how Shamshiri describes the room, an apt phrase for her studio’s own unique style.
