JSN STUDIO

Sky-High Style in West Hollywood

It’s hardly surprising that the Los Angeles–based interior designer Adair Curtis — cofounder of JSN Studio with his husband, fashion stylist Jason Bolden — takes inspiration from Hollywood cinema. One film in particular, Tom Ford’s 2009 directorial debut, A Single Man, informs this handsomely appointed, French-mid-century-accented West Hollywood high-rise home. “We were asked to create a harmonious, layered haven in the sky, a retreat that provides tranquility and a sense of escape from the bustling outside world,” Curtis says. In the living room, designed for social gatherings and quiet relaxation, he played off the monolithic fireplace and wood-clad architectural envelope with a warm earthy palette, an iron-based table with a Giacometti vibe and lighting from 1stDibs gallerist Studio Balestra. Plush upholstery on a custom sofa and poufs, as well as a pair of Pierre Jeanneret lounge chairs, add “relaxed, livable luxury” to the space, the designer says.
