About Maca Huneeus Design
Born and raised in Chile to an architect and a collector, Maca fell into the interior design business before she knew it.
Maca relocated to the United States 25 years ago where she obtained her degree in History of Art and Fashion and started a family in San Francisco. It wasn't until her design of her family's mountain home was published in several publications that people started calling her to redo their homes as well. After her fourth daughter started school, Maca knew it was time and officially started working as an interior designer. Business flourished in San Francisco and then spread to New York and the rest of the world. From time to time, her business takes her to incredible locations such as the canals of Italy either to design a home or to participate in art design and architecture fairs.
Maca's personal style is self-described as being modern and infused by worldly influences which lend an eclectic and warm feeling. It's no surprise that she gleans inspiration from a fellow Chilean, Eugenia Errazuriz, as well as Lina Bo Bardi, and Gabriela Crespi whom she describes as "quintessential worldly bohemian chic". Her South American influences can be seen in her work with textiles and textures combined with interesting sculptural forms.
