Clinton Hill Townhouse
Abruzzo Bodziak Architects reimagined a 19th-century Clinton Hill brownstone with precise, modern insertions that honor its historic fabric. A new window wall of French doors opens the parlor-level kitchen to a terrace and a custom steel stair down to the garden, extending daily life outdoors. Original floors were carefully restored and paired with a calm, minimalist palette that nods to Danish and Japanese influences. Private spaces include a primary bath wrapped in marble tile and a dedicated listening room. Above, a roof deck with soaking tubs frames the sky; below, a Japanese-inspired garden brings texture and serenity to the site. The result is a townhouse composed of quiet, exacting details and warm materials, balancing preservation with contemporary living.
