Restaurant von Swoon, The Studio in Dallas, TX
Perched atop iconic fashion emporium Forty Five Ten, Mirador is the go-to spot in Dallas for chic meals and stylish special occasions.
In reimagining Mirador, the Studio paid homage to the original architecture of the Forty Five Ten building while celebrating the room’s vantage point as a light-filled, airy respite perched above the bustling streets of Downtown Dallas. To create balance with the masculine lines and materials of the building, we drew inspiration from the Vienna Secession’s Wiener-Werkstätte and its use of curving lines, references to plants and nature, and desire to create a "total art" that unified painting, architecture, and the decorative arts.
