Más información sobre Marcin Rusak Studio

From extensive research to development and implementation, Marcin Rusak's custom-developed materials and techniques: the flagship Flora – real flower-infused resin, and the metallised Protoplasting Nature and Tephra, keep botanic matter at the core of the process. Everything from collecting and processing the flowers to metalworking, metallisation and finishing the resin is done by hand in a laborious and time-consuming process.

Everything from collecting and processing the flowers to finishing the resin is done by hand in a laborious and time-consuming process. Each piece is composed like a painting where flowers are chosen for their sculptural qualities or colours.

As the son and grandson of flower growers, Marcin Rusak puts flowers and plants at the core of his research-oriented, custom-developed designs. Each piece is a unique, collectible work of art in which he explores the ideas of value, ephemerality, and aesthetics.

Marcin Rusak's pieces include functional and decorative objects alike, always carefully handmade in a labour-intensive, time-consuming process that explores manual crafts and artisanship with modern and contemporary techniques and technologies. In Flora Lamp I Black, Marcin Rusak’s signature Perma material – a flower-infused resin reminiscent of natural stone – is complemented by sandblasted, mouth-blown glass and patinated brass.

The highly sought-after collectible objects from Marcin Rusak's Flora and Merging Metals collections make for unique statement pieces in modern, contemporary and historic interiors alike.

The Merging Metals collection adopts a metal spraying technique traditionally used for large-scale industrial manufacture and renders the process handmade, resulting in individually unique pieces. By applying metals such as bronze, brass, copper, zinc and aluminium to pieces as if they were three-dimensional canvases, a truly original aesthetic is created, one of deep colours and rich tactile textures reminiscent of Minimalist art.

Marcin Rusak's Tephra sculptures are made using a metal spraying technique traditionally used for large-scale industrial manufacture. By rendering the process handmade and combinging it with processes assotiated with traditional crafts (metal welding, textilework, stitching, hand-applied real dried flowers) the Tephra collection results in individually unique items that make for a great conversation starter or centrepiece.

Marcin Rusak's Tephra Sculpture 01, 2021, is a unique handmade decorative object made with real flowers, steel wire, and natural jute covered in a thin layer of zinc. Partially polished, the piece explores nature's abundance and creativity that the designer aims to preserve.
