Eco-Friendly Estate

What makes this project really special is that while this is an old house we totally re-built it so that it represents the state of the art in eco-friendly materials and systems and yet is still very warm and elegant. This house truly is the embodiment of the phrase “Eco-Luxury. “

When we started the project the house was a fairly traditional 10,000 sq. ft Mediterranean house built in the 1920’s. But my clients, who are real Italian food junkies wanted to transform the place into a more casual Italian villa that just happened to be almost totally green. The insulation in the walls is of recycled blue jeans, the solar panels in the roof provide all of the electricity to run the house, the wood floors and wood paneled rooms are all made from reclaimed wood, all of the fibers in the house are either all natural or completely organic…you name it. But it totally dispels the notion that “green” has to be either cold and modern or log cabin-Birkenstocky!
