Notting Hill Pied-a-terre
Formerly the Hempel Hotel, the building has now been re-developed into a series of fitted-out luxury apartments. The client invited us to transform the open-plan pied-à-terre into a vibrant family oriented home.
Respectful of the already fitted interior, we made minimal changes to the structure and layout. Instead, playful character was added throughout the apartment with illustrative wallpapers, patterned upholstery and bold furniture.
A narrow, rectangular room houses the kitchen, dining, and living room with an open plan layout. An iron screen was designed to partition the room to segregate the kitchen and dining space from the living area. The screen increased functionality by adding storage and shelving whilst still allowing for a visual continuity of the space.
