Sunset Capri Residence

The Sunset Capri building, originally designed by architect Edward H. Fickett in 1952, is an unexpected architectural gem set just above the Sunset Strip. Within this iconic crescent-shaped complex, we restored one of the units, transforming it into a modern homage to the building’s mid-century roots.

Taken down to the studs, the residence became a blank canvas for reimagining a space reflective of the era. Warm cedar paneling now lines the walls, while ungauged black field slate flooring adds a rugged, grounding texture throughout. These tactile elements set the stage for a curated art collection, bespoke furnishings, and sculptural lighting. The result is a carefully preserved time capsule — one that pays tribute to an iconic chapter in Los Angeles design history.
