Denise Bibro began exhibiting the work of various groups of contemporary artists and artist organizations in corporate and alternative spaces in 1980. She directed exhibitions at The Lever House Lobby at the Lever Corporation on Park Avenue, NYC, Crystal Pavilion owned by the Cohen Family, NYC, American Standard Lobby in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, and various lobbys of the Rockefeller Townhouse on 54th Street, NYC, to name a few.

During the 80s, Bibro established an art salon in Union Square at the 41 Union Square building, which housed several outstanding artists. In 1987, she opened her first gallery in SoHo near the past SoHo location of the Guggenheim Museum.

Denise Bibro Fine Art opened its Chelsea location in 1997. In subsequent years the gallery became well known for its annual open call exhibition Art from the Boros providing an exhibition opportunity for local emerging artists. In Fall 2021, the Gallery evolved to virtual programming and online artistic curations prompted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Denise Bibro Fine Art has received numerous reviews and notices including but not limited to The New York Times, The New York Observer, Art Examiner, Wall Street Journal, Art News, Art Forum, Art In America, New Criterion. The gallery and its artists appeared in Harper’s Magazine, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Interior Design Magazine among many others.

Prominent art critics and scholars that have made note of the gallery and its artists are Hilton Kramer, Grace Glueck, Roberta Smith, Stephen Katz, Jed Perl, Donald Kuspit, and Barbara McAdams to name a few.

Denise Bibro Fine Art’s artists have exhibited in various museums and alternative spaces including The Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, The Delaware Art Museum, Wilmington, DE, Burlington City Arts, Burlington, VT, Hudson River Museum, Yonkers, NY, The Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, NJ, The Newark Museum of Art, Newark, NJ, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA and many others.
