These movements were split across nine models, making each in effect a "limited edition." The 560 was a movement made only for the U.S. market to cut down on import tariffs. Ours has a beautiful untouched linen dial. The Seamaster De Ville, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective from the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's. It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back. This pleasing example is original down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. Its very honest, appearing to have never had any polishing except for a light amount to the bach and never having any parts replaced except for the crystal. Its case is excellent condition with only light wear. Its silver linen dial is original and untouched with light aging slight toning giving it a true vintage look. One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled the movement down to the last screw and fully serviced it. It is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position. For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We also stock distressed vintage Horween style leather straps and lizard and a variety of other straps in various prints, skins, and colors. Please ask us if you're interested. La légende de Omega veut que la Speedmaster Professional Chronograph de la marque ait été la première montre à effectuer un alunissage. Mais l'amour universel pour montres Omega vintage ne se limite pas aux astronomes, et l'héritage de l'entreprise ne se limite pas à l'histoire de la Moonwatch.

Les origines de la maison remontent à 1848, date à laquelle l'horloger suisse Louis Brandt s'est installé pour la première fois. Ses fils Louis-Paul et César ont pris la relève après sa mort et, en 1894, ils ont créé un nouveau mouvement fascinant.

Néanmoins, la plus célèbre des Omega est de loin la Speedmaster , introduite en 1957. Premier chronographe à afficher son échelle tachymétrique sur la lunette et non sur le cadran pour une meilleure lisibilité, il a été rapidement adopté par les ingénieurs et les scientifiques.
