1930's Miami bungalow
This house is a perfect example how Meyer creates backdrops. The walls of the living and dining room are sheathed in zebra wood – Meyer built out the walls slightly to accommodate subtle and dramatic up lighting into the cove ceiling which allows the light not to cast strange shadows and creating a magical glow to the space. The dining room walls are curved which creates a very sexy and intimate space. The 1960s chairs were painted and upholstered in the same lime green color in patent leather become very sculptural – the chandelier designed by Meyer gives the effect of falling water. The Master Bedroom walls took Meyer 6 months to create – collecting all the right images in the right colors then mounting them one by one – to create a backdrop which sets the tone for the room – the room has this wonderful water feel – almost like you have entered into a fish tank.
